In celebration of World Wellness Weekend, Harman’s Log Cabin Resort is bringing together movement, mindfulness, creativity, outdoor adventure, and restorative experiences in the heart of the West Virginia mountains.

Whether you want to move, explore, create, or simply slow down, every activity is optional. This is your retreat to enjoy your way.

Activities begin Friday at 6 PM. Cabin check-out is 11 AM Sunday.

Friday, September 18

  • 4:00 – 6:00 PM Watercolor Landscapes: Composing and Coloring the World Around Us Front Pavilion With WV artist Dan Soper A beginner-friendly watercolor session with West Virginia artist Dan Soper. Using a simple viewfinder to frame the mountain landscape around you, you’ll learn composition basics: finding a focal point, placing the horizon, and leading the eye with paths and tree lines. Then practice core watercolor techniques like wet-on-wet skies and layered depth. No experience needed. 7 guests max per class. Book here
  • 6:30 – 7:15 PM Gentle Yoga Front Pavilion Sheray Efaw Bring your own yoga mat and water bottle

Saturday, September 19

Sunrise at Dolly Sods

  • 6:30 AM Departure — Depart for Sunrise Yoga at Dolly Sods Meet at Harman’s Trading Post Angelina Harman Carpool from Harman’s Trading Post — we leave at 6:30 SHARP to make sunrise. You may also drive yourself and meet us there. Bring your own yoga mat, water bottle, camera, and gloves.
  • 7:00 – 8:00 AM Sunrise Yoga at Dolly Sods Dolly Sods Sheray Efaw Experience the magic of sunrise yoga at the top of Dolly Sods.
  • 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM Morning Hike on Dolly Sods Dolly Sods Angelina Harman The caravan leaves directly from Dolly Sods; non-hikers caravan back to the cabins. You may also drive to Bear Rocks/Dolly Sods and meet the group at 10 AM sharp to join the hike.

Carol Phillips

Carol Phillips has been a leader in the spa and wellness industry for more than 30 years. She has partnered with some of the world’s most recognized spa and hospitality brands—including Canyon Ranch, Miraval, Wynn, Hilton Worldwide, Waldorf Astoria, Rosewood Resorts, Jumeirah, Gaylord Resorts, Sea Island, Glen Ivy Hot Springs, Grove Park Inn, MGM, and Exhale Spas.

A nationally recognized consultant, trainer, and keynote speaker, Carol now brings her expertise closer to home—guiding Harman’s Luxury Log Cabins in weaving wellness more deeply into the guest experience. Her focus is on creating spaces where nature, comfort, and clarity meet—so every stay becomes a restorative escape.

Angelina Harman, DNP, FNP-BC

Angelina Harman is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Associate Professor at George Mason University. Her doctoral work focused on childhood obesity, and she continues to champion preventative health, wellness, and women’s health across the lifespan.

An avid hiker who seeks out trails wherever she travels, Angelina also enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She and her husband, Todd, are the proud parents of two sons, Spencer and Christian, and share their home with two beloved Bichons.

Timothy Caudill, North Fork Fly Shop Manager and Head of Guide Services

Sharing 40+ Years of Fly Fishing Passion With over 40 years of coast-to-coast fly fishing under his belt, Timothy Caudill isn't just a guide, he's a walking encyclopedia of the sport. More than 17 years of experience leading expeditions across West Virginia's pristine waters have honed his skills as an educator and friend on the river. You'll walk away with not just fish stories, but a deeper appreciation for the sport and the stunning natural landscapes it embraces.

Sheray Efaw, Yoga Instructor

Born and raised in West Virginia, Sheray is a wife, mother of two, and yoga teacher who has been guiding students since 2015. She believes yoga is a nourishing form of moving meditation that calms the mind, builds strength, and encourages self-love.

Sheray has completed two 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, most recently with Kia Miller as a Radiant Body Yoga teacher. Her practice blends vinyasa, Kundalini, meditation, and breathwork to help awaken inner wisdom and radiance.

With creativity, care, and a lighthearted spirit, Sheray creates a welcoming space where everyone can feel calm, centered, strong, and free. Her class meets you exactly where you are and is open to all levels, including those completely new to yoga.

Her WVYOGAGIRL motto says it beautifully: “Create a life you’re proud of living.”

Spencer Harman

Spencer Harman graduated in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University. He is currently employed at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where he serves as a lead for the DEVELOP Program.

Inspired by his own food allergies, Spencer has developed a strong interest in milk and nut alternatives, sparking his creativity in the kitchen. He looks forward to sharing practical tips—and some tasty food—during World Wellness Weekend. Outside of work, Spencer enjoys staying active through basketball and soccer, playing in local recreation leagues.

Dan Soper, West Virgina Artist

Dan Soper, an artist from Berkeley County, West Virginia, specializes in watercolor and oil landscapes and wildlife from across the United States. Drawing inspiration from rugged coastlines, mountain ranges, cascading water, and the wide-open plains, Dan creates work that celebrates the diverse character of American wild places. Dan has been painting for over 35 years and received a BA in Art concentrating in watercolor from Virginia Tech in 1992.

Through Dan’s guidance, you will discover a relaxing and fulfilling creative process to nurture the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—rather than focusing solely on the final product. Simple, easy-to-understand methods will serve as integrative tools for emotional release, self-discovery, and mental wellness.

Elizabeth & David LaPointe, Kindred Vibes Sound Healing

Elizabeth and David LaPointe are the husband-and-wife duo behind Kindred Vibes. Together, they offer immersive sound-healing experiences using crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, handpan, vocal toning, and other therapeutic instruments.

Elizabeth is a Reiki Master and Certified Holographic Sound Healer with more than 20 years of experience in massage, energy work, crystal healing, and sound healing. She intuitively combines these practices to support relaxation, balance, and inner peace.

Through Elizabeth and David’s Sacred Sound Bath, you will relax beneath the open sky as soothing waves of sound blend with the harmonies of nature. This restorative experience invites the body to soften, the mind to quiet, and your energy to reconnect with the earth.
