Trout Fishing Vacations
[ More
Information & Stocking Info ]
Harman's has 1 1/2 miles of privately stocked trophy trout stream on the North
Fork River at the cabins. Harman’s stocks the steam all year, with the exception of Julyand August. Access is
restricted to customer's of the property and/or permit holders, making this a popular spot for great trout fishing
vacations and trips. The stream is managed as Catch and Release Area where fly fishing or spinning tackle can be
used, no bait fishing is allowed.
During the year the state will stock January, February, March, April, May, June, and October a quarter mile downstream
of Harman’s property at the Jordan Run Road. The North Fork river flows downstream from Harman's property and if
you leave our property and walk downstream it is managed as Put and Take by the state.
In Hopeville Canyon upstream of Cabin #15, is an additional two miles of stream for trout fishing. This upstream
property is accessible by our new road. This section of stream is secluded which only adds to the reputation of
Harman’s as a premier location for great trout fishing vacations.

Hiking At the Cabins
Feel like taking a more leisurely pace through the breathtaking surrounding wilderness rather than taking advantage
of one of the best ATV tours West Virginia can offer? We can’t blame you for wanted to take a day or two to augment
our UTV tour with some fantastic hiking.
Top of the Rocks: This rock takes
you to the top of the sheer rock cliff at the cabins. You view of the cabins and surround area are spectacular.
At the overlook there is a sheer drop, so be very careful.
Overlook in Hopeville Canyon: This
hike is on a logging road, then a trail thru the woods. It takes you to an overlook of the Warner Fields
and Hopeville Canyon. At the overlook there is a sheer drop, so be very careful.
Warner Fields (Time Unknown 1+ mile): This
hike follows a logging road to a large field were turkey and deer can be seen.
Third Big Hole (Time Unknown 1 mile):
This hike is upstream of the cabins. The third big hole is a very large body of water with rock cliffs, sandy beaches,
and seclusion., which is a great place for a private swim or fishing.
1 Mile of Stream Access (Time Unknown 1 mile): This hike is the easiest. It follows the road accessing the cabins. It follows the river
which goes thru the property. At any time you can leave the road and venture closer to the stream.
*** Each cabin contains a guest book with additional directions
and information about each hike. The photo gallery contains pictures from most of these hikes.
Biking
The Hopeville Canyon section of Harman's has a 1 mile gravel access road. It follows the North Fork River.
It is a great place for a kids bike ride.
Camp Fires
There are multiple marked camp fire areas at Harman's. We sell firewood at the Office.
Volley Ball and Horse Shoes
A volleyball net and horse shoe pit is available at Harman's.
Hunting
Harman's is a great base camp for access to the Monongahela National Forest, including Dolly Sods Wilderness, Smoke
Hole, and Spruce Knob. Our Hopeville Canyon Section provides direct access to the North Fork Mountain Region of
the National Forest.
Bow hunting for whitetails is highly recommended during early November since Harman’s consistently will offer reduced
rates and specials for bow hunters. The surrounding public assess hunting areas are underutilized during bow season
so thousands of acres of prime white tail hunting are available with very few hunters!
